For the second year in a row AKB48 Team K Captain Sayaka Akimoto, ran in the Tokyo marathon. This year she ran it in 5:39:34, last year she ran it at 6:53:53. So she improve more than a hour from her time last year, when she barely finish the race. They’re allowed 7 hours to finish the race.
AKB48 25th major single (27th overall) Give Me Five!’, which was release on February 15. Sold 1,287,217 copies in it’s first week , to rank number on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Those first week sales are 4th all time, it sold 966,529 copies on it’s first day which is third all time. It’s AKB48’s 12th number one single and 7th million seller. I bought the two Regular Edition Version, I also wanted to get the two Limited Edition Version, but it sold out very quickly. It’s a good single, not great.

NMB48 3rd single ‘Junjou U-19’, which was release on February 8. Sold 329,438 copies in it’s first week of release, to rank number one on oricon weekly singles chart. It sold 280,367 on it’s first day of release, it look like it was going to challenge SKE48 ‘Kataomoi Finally’ first week sales (which sold 285,467 copies on it’s first day of release). In the end it fell about 165K short.
With those first week sales NMB48 have reach the million mark in singles sales, in only their 3rd single release. SKE48 reach that mark with their 6th single, AKB48 reach it with their 16th single (including the 2 Indie Singles).
This single was release in three version, love this single bought all 3 version.
AKB48 Team A Member Misaki Iwasa first solo single ‘Mujin Eki’, which was release on February 1. Sold 23,773 copies in it’s first week of release, to rank number 5 on oricon weekly singles chart. Not bad since she’s not really a popular member and it’s her first single, and it’s a enka single which isn’t really a popular music genre.
About a week ago January 30 was her 17th Bithday, I’m late but Happy belated Birthday Wasamin.
Oricon Top 10 Singles, Week 6, February 13, 2012.
I’m not gonna go to any details on this, in fact I’ll make this very short. I’m not very good on writing about this kind of stuff.
Minami Takahashi mother was arrested, she allegedly committed an indecent act with an acquaintance of her 15 year old son. There’s more to the story than that, which I’m not going to write about. In fact I wasn’t even going to do any post on this.
This must be very tough and embarassing on Takamina, Hope she’s doing fine. Since this doesn’t directly involved her, I doubt very much she will be punish for this. Like AkiP said ‘The show must go on, no matter how painful it maybe. We are all in this Together’.
I just want to show my support for Takamina, I’m behind her all the way. Just over a month into this year a couple of scandals, not to mention what happen during a few handshake events earlier this year. This looks it might be a very tough year for AKB48. I guess when your this big, it seems everyone wants to take you down.

SKE48 8th single ‘Kataomoi Finally’, which was release on January 25. Sold 495,809 copies in it’s first week of release, to rank number one on oricon weekly singles chart. Wow, almost 500k, I’m sure the controversial video for this single, help it’s sales. SKE48’s singles sales are improving with every release, this single was release in 3 versions. Bought all 3 version, I didn’t think I would like this single, I love it.
Oricon Top 10 Singles Chart, Week 5, February 6, 2012.
